From an imaginary sky palace to a real palace in the sky, The House in the Tree symbolizes the culmination of a young boy's love for trees and his quest for their conservation. Encouraged by three supportive friends and an ideal but doting father, Ezi lives out his dream of conquering sky masquerade, but the house in the tree also becomes the symbol of their commitment to environmental protection in their community as they all turn the playground where the boys have embarked on so many exciting adventures of a mystical tribe in a legendary sky kingdom to real forest preserved for posterity. Chidinma Eze is the author of two award-winning short stories. Her book, The Sun, the Moon and the Stars was shortlisted for the Children's Literature Prize in the Macmillan Writers' Prize for Africa in 2002. The House in the Tree is her second book for children. Chidinma Eze is happily married and lives in Lagos.
